Rachael Spires is a licensed architect and works as a code and specifications resource to projects across the Midwest. She has an excellent understanding of the International and Minnesota Building Codes, especially as they relate to accessibility and the nuance between requirements for existing and new construction. Rachael is a member of the International Code Council.

“Life is about saying ‘yes’ to new experiences. To practice this philosophy, there are some years when I try one new activity each week for the entire year. Meeting and marrying my husband, visiting new and historic architecture while traveling to conferences, and accepting the AIA St. Paul President-elect position have all been possible because I was brave enough to say ‘yes.’ It’s wonderful how one simple word can change everything.”
