With a dramatic curving glass exterior, the Health & Fitness Center on the Wellness Campus in Clive, Iowa, is the anchor and focal point that brings together all the services to both treat and prevent physical ailments. Operated by MercyOne, the Health & Fitness Center is the first of the buildings to be constructed on the campus, which includes a sleep center, a cancer center, and medical office buildings. The new 82-bed MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center is situated adjacent to campus.

On the cusp of the emerging trend to marry health and fitness with medical services in a campus location for an integrated approach to health and healing, the Center sits on a 24-acre site with connections to nature both inside and out of the buildings. Inside, expansive windows and warm materials such as natural stone contribute to a comprehensive healing environment that nourishes both body and mind. The jogging track surrounding the fitness floor overlooks the rolling wooded terrain neighboring the center.
