Critical Access Hospital Addition and Remodel

BWBR worked with Crete Area Medical Center on a master plan to explore options for expanded services, including OB, surgery, and clinical services.

A multi-phased renovation of the existing Family Practice Clinic and Outpatient/Specialty Clinic minimized the need to add a significant amount of space to the building. A small addition enhances outpatient capacity, expands the clinic workspace, and enlarges exam rooms to meet current standards. The existing surgery department was renovated for use as the specialty clinic.

Since the community relies on the hospital for OB services, the renovation improves the current obstetrics department while an addition adds two Labor and Delivery rooms and two postpartum rooms. The project also renovated an underutilized inpatient unit, transforming it into a surgical services department with two operating rooms and three recovery rooms.
