Holistic Museum Transformation
Science Museum of Minnesota
In support of their mission to “Inspire learning. Inform policy. Improve lives.” the Science Museum of Minnesota is undertaking a transformational renovation and remodeling project to ensure they remain a relevant resource for the community now and into the future. As Mark Dahlager, Vice President of Museum Experiences puts it, “The Science Museum of Minnesota should be a tool for Minnesotans to help make sense of their daily lives.” Simplifying and clarifying the museum’s visual impact, the multifaceted project will establish effective places to learn and work while celebrating the site’s connection to the city and the river.
By rethinking visitor flow, increasing gallery space, reimagining flexible learning and event spaces, and embracing outdoor space, the project will reinvigorate a sense of excitement and discovery to help the museum fulfill its purpose.
