Whether Mike is working on the small details or the big picture of a project, the thought of how people are going to interact with a space is at the forefront of his work. He believes that every part of our lives is impacted by design, and he utilizes his vast experience to design spaces that are both inviting and exhilarating.

“One of my hobbies is the design of mountain bike trails. All the same principles that go into building design are involved in planning a sustainable trail, designing a system that is inviting, fun, exhilarating, and challenging for first-timers as well as experienced bikers and keeps people coming back again and again. When you stop and think about it, every part of our lives is impacted by design. The spaces we live in, play in, relax in, exercise in, and work in have thoughtful planning and design. Whether I am working on the small details of a project or overall plans and building sites, the thought of how people are going to use the space, and interact in it are at the forefront of thought.”
