The BWBR Portfolio Scholarship (formerly the BWBR Prize), launched in the mid-1990s as a way to live out our commitment to the future of the profession by investing in the next generation of design talent. The framework of the scholarship is meant to model the format often utilized by owners hiring architects, such as the request for proposal and proposal review, giving applications some real-world experience with the process. Like BWBR’s Scholarships for Equity in Design, the prize awards $2,500 to a developing designer who demonstrates exceptional skill.
SUPPORTING THE NEXT GENERATION OF DESIGN TALENT
The scholarship is open to students in an NAAB-accredited architectural program and within in their last year or two from graduation with the accredited degree. Winner selection will be based on merit as evidenced by the quality of design thought during the design process and the final design results. Applications will be reviewed for completeness and quality by a committee of BWBR employees.
