“I can’t recall a time when art wasn’t present in my life. To see art is to catch a glimpse of how others see the world. Getting lost in an art gallery — sometimes for hours — and lost in the art, itself, is one of my favorite experiences. Paintings by the likes of John Singer Sargent captivate me. In his portraiture he found a balance between realism and impressionism. It reminds me that not all art or visual representation requires complex details. Even the most simple of brush strokes and blocks of color can connect on an emotional and personal level.”
