Science and Technology Innovation Center

The new three-story Science and Technology (SciTech) Innovation Center will transform the hands-on learning experience for future scientists and engineers, while creating channels for students to collaborate with faculty and regional industry leaders from a variety of disciplines. A new, integrated University and Business Collaboration Center (UBC2) will be a place where employers and students can interact through internships, collaborative research projects, presentations, strategic discussions, product design, and joint professorships.

SciTech will house the chemistry, biology, physics, and psychology programs, as well as computer labs, offices, non-classroom learning spaces, and makerspaces with rapid prototyping equipment and tools. The building will contain labs for general, organic, and analytical chemistry; general biology, biotechnology, microbiology, and anatomy and physiology; physics (teaching and projects); human behavior, neurology, and psychiatry; and computational and flex studio rooms.

Size: 134,560 gross sq. ft.

Components: 32 undergraduate research spaces; 12 instructional labs; SciTech University and Business Collaboration Center; three wet bench research labs; prototyping space, makerspace, and fabrication lab; special facilities include a greenhouse, space for the Environmental Affinity Group, Innovation Center, optics lab, imaging suite, and vivarium; collaboration areas on each floor; conference rooms; offices
