Chi Health St. Elizabeth

In 2017, CHI Health St. Elizabeth became the only health care campus in the state of Nebraska to offer inpatient burn treatment. Utilizing funding from a former patient, St. Elizabeth worked with BWBR to renovate the 16-bed unit for the first time in 40 years, making the space more inviting and comfortable for patients who may undergo treatment for months at a time.

Bright blues, greens, and nature-inspired environmental graphics created by a Nebraska conservation photographer offer distraction therapy, a method that comforts and gives patients pain relief through visual interest elements. A new physical therapy room assists patients who can’t go off-site for therapy. Other enhancements include new patient-controlled adjustable LED lighting, updated finishes throughout the nurse station core to refresh the space and create efficiencies, and remodeled support spaces.
