Dixon Clinic Renovation
Mercyhealth
A former, vacant pizzeria was completely transformed to create a freestanding urgent care clinic for Mercyhealth System. From a drive-thru restaurant to a comfortable and functional healthcare environment serving the Dixon community, the unique space was revamped to include four exam rooms, a procedure room, imaging, lab, and support space.
The project makes creative reuse of the existing 1957 facility, originally built as a radio station. A concrete structure that was previously used as a radio tower was maintained for signage. Along with updating the exterior to align with the Mercyhealth brand, the existing vestibule was removed to create a new, welcoming entry. The team also reworked the space for egress and code compliance, bringing the facility up-to-standard for regulations, comfort, and workflows.
