BWBR Names Steve Berg as New Principal

Steve Berg named new principal

BWBR recently named a new principal to its leadership team, promoting Steve Berg, AIA.

Berg came to BWBR in 2007 after working at design firms from North Carolina to Minneapolis in his first six years out of college. Joining the firm as a design leader, he brought an eye for clean, bold design and refined interior aesthetics that immediately began to influence projects across the spectrum, from education to healthcare and workplace design. Berg later migrated into project management, gaining a reputation for bringing voices together from across an organization to craft solutions that are unique and effective in elevating the performance of those organizations.

Obsessed with the details of a space, Berg has worked on facilities with very unique purposes, from one of the first known primary schools of its kind serving students with severe autism and emotional-behavioral disorders to a healthcare-based wellness center that combined the best of care, nutrition, fitness, spiritual awareness, and research. Projects he’s teamed on have received state and national recognition for their designs, including Mayo Clinic’s Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center, Pankalo Education Center, Brookview Elementary School, and Anderson Hall at Gustavus Adolphus College.

Other notable projects during his time at BWBR include the Minnesota Senate Building, Gustavus Adolphus’ Beck Hall, University of Northwestern’s Knight Performance Hall, and Austin Community Recreation Center.

A native of Roseau, Minn., Berg graduated from North Dakota State University with bachelor’s degrees in architecture and environmental design.
