St. Cloud State University
Parking Ramp and Public Safety Building
St. Cloud, Minn.
The team designed a 500-car parking ramp with a campus security office for the northern end of St. Cloud’s campus. Easing parking pressures on the neighboring streets, it also provided residential students needed monthly parking options. A feasibility study prompted the team to make the ramp fully automated.
Two glass-enclosed stairwells provide elevated views of campus and enhance security. A clock tower incorporated into the facility provides a campus landmark that helps define the entrance to campus and improves way-finding for students and visitors. The structure is designed to support a future expansion to accommodate another 500 cars.
Size: 207,000 sq. ft.
Components: 500-stall ramp; 24-hour campus security office
