A renovation of an existing warehouse, the design team was challenged to create a highly functional and efficient Tier III concurrently maintainable data center that also appeals to the high-tech aesthetic senses of the employees who worked there. Through the use of color, materials and texture on walls, ceiling, and floor, the final solution creates a people-friendly environment that projects the staff’s commitment to quality service to the health care organization they serve.
The design adheres to Lean principles and features a wind- and water-resistant shell within the existing structure. A fully secure facility, the team worked with the client to develop strategies that allows natural light to filter into common staff spaces like conference and break rooms. Innovative security grills designed for windows provides employees views to the outdoors while strengthening the security of the data center.
