Degree of Honor Building

The first Saint Paul structure to be built by a women-led company, the Degree of Honor Building, designed by Bergstedt, Hirsch, Wahlberg & Wold, physically embodied Milt Bergstedt’s commitment to equity. As the first significant office facility constructed in downtown Saint Paul since the Depression, the Degree of Honor Building updated the city’s skyline and set the design tone of modern high-rises intended for modern employees. Completed in 1961, the facility’s National Register of Historic Places designation is pending.
