McCollum Science Hall Addition: Windows Wanted

This light-hearted sketch about windows in the McCollum Addition was developed when BWBR was interviewing for the project with UNI

Windows on science

Back when it was built, McCollum’s spare lines, simple geometries and lack of windows presented a contemporary, appropriately serious face for the College of Natural Sciences.

But technology isn’t the only thing that’s changed in the last 30 years. When BWBR interviewed with UNI’s faculty and administration to design McCollum’s Addition, a unanimous thought prevailed: Windows! Windows! Windows!

“Windows on Science” quickly emerged as a rallying cry for the Addition itself, and a unifying theme for the project team.
