The McCollum Science Hall Addition
brings a
new look and new technology to science at UNI |

When the University of Northern Iowa built McCollum Science Hall
in the
late 1960s, there were no laptops, PDAs, cell phones, or World Wide
Web. Digital media and the Internet had not yet entered the college
classroom.
By the time UNI broke ground for McCollums Addition in 2001,
technology had altered both scientific instruction and facility
construction in dramatic ways.
When the Addition opened in the fall of 2003, UNI gained a unique
new facility that puts the emphasis on students learning science
by doing science.
