McCollum Science Hall Addition: Science on Display

A huge videowall invites those walking by to stop and check out new experiments or discoveries in the Chemistry Department

Putting chemistry on display

In another public hallway, an imaginative videowall with touchscreens and web-based interactive programs provides a peek into the Chemistry Department’s world.

Numerous science artifacts – from the skeletal structures of animals to three-dimensional molecular models – are exhibited in more traditional glass-fronted display cases scattered throughout the facility.

Providing these opportunities for students and visitors to interact with and view science at work and on display was one of the project’s most important goals, beyond meeting functional needs.
