District leaders, staff, parents, and architect came together
to create a building that matched the districts mission statement:
To ensure high quality, innovative, challenging education
where all learners are valued and respected. The design
met the challenge of developing a school that provided both the
efficiency of a school of 800 with the familiar warmth of a school
with 200 students. The result provides an intimate setting for elementary
students in a building with flexible open space where independent
and diverse learning occur.
It feels kid friendly. Its not boring. It invites creativity.
Its child-centered. Comments visitors shared with the
principal when the Rutherford Elementary opened help confirm that
the new schools goals were met.
