Fortune 500 Company
Global Design Lab
Saint Paul, Minn.
Similar to the way colored note paper can pop off a page or wall to grab attention, colors and elements are integrated into the remodeled Global Design Lab to establish the space as a place for creative energy and strategic brand development. Envisioned as space that inspires design innovation, the lab is unique for this innovative company, pushing the boundaries of an open work environment. A bench system eliminates cubicle walls and barriers between people. Like the pink carpet that streams its way through the space, ideas flow without obstacles from station to station, and standing-height tables between bench clusters promote the impromptu conversations the can uncover unexpected ideas.
The clean palette and simple workstations create a fresh, light, and cool space that doesn’t overwhelm the creative process. Avoiding the institutional look that can come with a stark environment, the punches of color provide the drama to draw energy from visitors and employees alike. A place where product developers, marketers, and designers can come together, the lab includes project rooms for divisions to gather and conceive, deliberate, and plan design executions. Each room has its own personality, appealing to the varied divisions that comprise this corporation. Large scale magnetic/pin-up spaces put process on display and project an air of inspiration in the lab.
